Lawrence CHEN Chief Executive Officer Mr. Lawrence Chen is the co-founder and CEO of Golden Horse Fund Management. He brings with him over 15 years of experience in the financial markets across private equity, investment banking, infrastructure and real estate. Prior to Golden Horse, Lawrence was an Executive Director with F&H Fund Management, an accredited fund with AUM of USD 150 million. He led the investment, operations and compliance functions. The funds were favorably reviewed by Mercer as a Preferred Provider. Lawrence garnered his PE experience as a Senior Financial Analyst with Forum Partners Investment Management LLC, a USD 6 billion global equity firm. He was a key member of Forum Asia JV1 and II, managing AUM of USD 1.5 billion. The funds’ investments spanned 40 companies in 16 countries and achieved an IRR of 21.2%.p.a. Academically, Mr. Chen holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of California, Berkeley.
KO Ming Nan Managing Director (Fund Management) Mr. Ko Ming Nan is the Managing Director of Golden Horse Fund Management and has a decade of experience as a money manager. Prior to Golden Horse, he was a fund manager in SGX listed IFS Capital where he was responsible for managing the in-house insurance fund of SGD 60 million. He led a team of fund managers in portfolio construction across the fixed income and equity markets. During his tenure with IFS Capital, the investment portfolio consistently outperformed the S&P 500 while reducing the portfolio volatility. The U.S. portfolio achieved an annualized return of 24.76% compared to 5.18% of S&P 500 during the same period In Golden Horse, Ming Nan designs and implements quant-driven strategies that aims to outperform the market consistently while lowering volatility. These alpha seeking strategies are applied on listed instruments with high liquidity with the main focus on maximizing returns, managing volatility and achieving long term sustainable returns. Academically, Mr. Ko holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Business, from the University of London, LSE.
Glenn GOH Senior Finance and Compliance Manager Mr. Glenn Goh is the Finance and Compliance Manager of Golden Horse Fund Management. Coming from a background in fund accounting, valuations and investor relations, he has previously worked at leading fund administrators Citco Fund Services and Citigroup Alternative Investments where he supported the operations of several billion dollar hedge funds and private equity firms. He brings this experience to Golden Horse where his main responsibilities include the management of the middle and back office function of the company as well as regulatory reporting. Academically, Glenn holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Banking and Finance, from the University of London, LSE.
LIM Huan Hock Investment Operations Analyst Mr. Lim Huan Hock is an Investment Operations Analyst at Golden Horse Fund Management. Prior to Golden Horse, Huan Hock held positions in the quantitative finance research department of NUS Investment Society, where he led and conducted research on various quantitative and/or algorithmic trading strategies ranging from factor models to sentiment analysis and machine learning. He brings this experience to Golden Horse where his main responsibilities include Portfolio & NAV reporting, Risk Management, Strategy Research and Compliance. Academically, Huan Hock holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the National University of Singapore, majoring in Quantitative Finance with a minor In Computer Science. Before that, he studied in Raffles Institution (Secondary) and Raffles Institution (Junior College). During his National Service, Huan Hock was commissioned as an officer of the Singapore Armed Forces, and served as the Deputy S3 of the 8th Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment. He was placed in charge of training planning and overseeing training safety. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant.
LIM Ming How Managing Director (Wealth Management) Mr. Lim Ming How brings with him more than 20 years of consumer, corporate, investment and private banking experience. He previously headed teams of relationship managers focusing on ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) in the East Asia region. He and his team has successfully managed more than USD 500 million during this period. Using his vast experience and network in the private banking industry, he has worked with global investment banks and private equity firms that saw initial public offerings in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Ming How's sector expertise lies in a number of fields, including agriculture, properties, mining, energy, manufacturing, waste-to-energy, recycling. Prior to Golden Horse, Mr. Lim's past private banking experience is as follows: OCBC Bank Singapore (Team Lead for Consumer Mortgage Loan), Standard Chartered Bank Singapore (Onshore Senior Relationship Manager), Citibank IPB Singapore (Taiwan Market Senior Relationship Manager), Credit Suisse Private Bank Singapore, (Taiwan and China Team Lead), Barclays Private Bank Singapore (China Market Team Lead), ABN AMRO Private Bank Singapore (China Market Head). Academically, Mr. Lim holds a Bachelor of Science, from University of Bradford, graduating in year 2000.
James KATTAN Independent Director Mr. James Kattan serves as an Independent Director with DMS Governance Ltd. (DMS) where he oversees fund governance for private investment funds with a wide variety of structures and strategies. Prior to joining DMS, Mr. Kattan was a director at Home Loan Servicing Solutions (Nasdaq:HLSS) where he led the company's SOX, internal audit and vendor oversight programs, and provided oversight of the company's quarterly and annual financial reporting processes including valuation of its multi-billion dollar portfolio of level 3 assets. Previously, Mr. Kattan was a senior manager at KPMG Cayman Islands where he was responsible for overseeing the audits of a portfolio of hedge funds. Further to his auditing responsibilities, he led various operational quality and efficiency initiatives, and managed the firm's technical knowledge network. Mr. Kattan is a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, and is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants. He holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
